BackgroundPresented by Young People and the Arts Australia (YPAA), the Youth Arts Market is a national project that YPAA would like to see in every city and every region across the country. YPAA aspires for these Youth Arts Markets to attract a broad range of audience members from producers, festival directors, venue managers and touring agents to large institutions, governments, members of parliament, councillors, and of course families and artists. YPAA envisages an event where audiences queue to get a seat, where energy is contagious and the focus is on the creativity of children and young people from across Australia.QLD Youth Arts Market was based on the 2008 Youth Engagement Showcase (YES), established by the 2008 NSW YPAA Members and Helen Hristofski.We welcome anyone to contact YPAA about hosting a Youth Arts Market in your hometown.

Big Questions for the Big End of Town
Exciting potential exists for collaborations between cultural insitutions and small to medium organisations and arts practitioners. Collaboration is based on mutual understanding of core values and a shared vision. This forum gives the audience insight into forming meaningful partnerships, creating new work for Queensland audiences and opportunities for the inclusion of small to medium organisations in the programs of major cultural institutions.

Lenine Bourke, YPAA Executive Director
Brooke Newall, QYAM Emerging Producer
Lenine's professional experience in the arts and cultural sectors has taken her throughout Australia and New Zealand, Canada and the USA. She has worked for community organisations, local and state government, statutory authorities, peak bodies, educational institutions, enterprise and arts organisations. Her experience extends across cultural forms such as youth arts, community cultural development, visual arts and performance. In 2006 she was awarded the national Kirk Robson Award for outstanding leadership from the federal government through the Australia Council for the Arts.
Brooke is a youth arts practitioner specialising in facilitating theatre workshops, coordinating arts programs and directing work with children and young people. Brooke is the Environment & Arts Coordinator for C&K Kindergarten, Rosalie and a facilitator with Backbone Youth Arts. Her directing credits include Night Castles in The Sky (09), Holidayze (08), The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe (06), HONK! (05). Brooke is an actor for stage and film and TV. Her theatre performance credits include Holy Guacamole (09), Hitchcock Blonde (06), Up For Grabs (06), and more. Brooke is a recipient of the 2009 YAMP mentorship.
Jonathan Harrison, QYAM Emerging Production Manager
Imogene Shields, YPAA Communications Officer
Jonathan is currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Major in Technical Production at QUT. He has worked in roles such as Production State Manger, Lighting Design, Head Electrician, AV Coordinator and Operator and Stage Manager in various shows. Externally he has worked on Genesis as A/V designer/coordinator/operator with Director Ben Knapton. Project No. 9 as A/V designer/coordinator/operator with Benjamin Shaw. Worked with Great Big Events at Suncorp Stadium on Tri Nations rugby, in Melbourne as a Sports Presentation Manager on the Homeless World Cup 2008 and on the Telstra Australian Swimmer of the Year in Canberra. He was a Technician on Brisbane Festivals Under the Radar.
Imogene's artistic interests, tertiary studies, travel and work history have combined to allow her to pursue a career in creative industries management and arts marketing. Imogene has studied degrees in Business (Management and Japanese) and Creative Industries (CI Management, Public Relations and Music) in Brisbane and Quebec. Her professional experience includes Management at Metro Arts, Marketing and Communications for Backbone Youth Arts' 2high Festival, Operations and Volunteers Management at the Calgary-Banff International Writers Festival and Promotions at Universal Music.
Warren Gracie, QYAM Emerging Producer
Deb Wilks, QYAM Project Officer
Warren is a visual and community arts practitioner with a background in festival programming, workshop facilitation, events management and curating. This includes programming Live and Let DIY Festival, producing Sweet Deliverance theatre work as well as working for local government and the Queensland Association for Healthy Communities. Warren has an investment in working under a framework that involves meaningful community engagement. Warren is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts at Queensland University of Technology.
Deb is the Chief Executive Officer of Flipside Circus leading a committed team of staff and circus performers to provide fun and innovative circus classes for children and young people. Deb's skills include strategic planning; creating organisational and financial plans and implementing growth and development plans and policies for Flipside Circus.
Deb is currently studying at the University of SA Associate Diploma of Management in Arts and Culture
